Hopefully by now you’ve passed the Midpoint and are well on your way to the All Is Lost moment.
In the meantime your bad guys are closing in. This is the part of the story where plans are concocted, hatched, and foiled. It's almost as much fun to write as the Fun and Games section, just darker.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you work your way through this section:
- There are external bad guys and internal bad guys, the hero’s inner demons. Vary your scenes by focusing on either the literal bad guys or the hero’s flaws that are holding him back from success.
- Make the story get scarier as it gets closer to the climax.
- Raise the stakes. What will happen if the hero fails?
