The times when we're alone are often the times when we're the most transparent. We're not trying to impress people or worrying about what they think of us. We are simply ourselves. What is your character like when he's alone? Is he different from what he's like when he's around others? Put your character in a place where he is forced to be alone. What does he discover about himself? Is it something good or something that needs to change? |

Wow. This is somewhat thought provoking. My characters tend to be the same all the time. Thank you for pointing this out.

Thanks for your comment! Introverts and extroverts respond very differently to being alone. Knowing how your character feels when he's by himself helps you know what type of person he is.
